EMBRC-France dispose de plusieurs souchothèques qui rassemblent plus de 3000 souches de microorganismes unicellulaires (microalgues, procaryotes, virus)

• Banyuls Bacterial Culture Collection (2B2C)

The Banyuls Bacterial Culture Collection (2B2C), previously MOLA (Microbial Observatory Laboratoire ARAGO) collection, was established in 2001. The collection contains more than 2,500 bacterial strains. Microorganisms were isolated from samples taken during oceanographic cruises all over the globe : from oligotrophic waters to the most eutrophic, at the water interface with air or sediments, or from the water column. It also contains symbiotic bacteria associated with plants and animals. Each strain is identified with a BBCC unique code and characterized by a large diversity of parameters (geographical origin, taxonomy, growth conditions, genes, HPLC and flow cytometry profiles,…). Strains are available under request for academic and industrial applications, exept those which are already engaged.

The BBCC collection is registered with the World Data Centre for Microorganisms (WDCM911) in the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC) under its previous name MOLA.

• Mediterranean Culture Collection of Villefranche-sur-Mer (MCCV)

The Mediterranean Culture Collection of Villefranche (MCCV) is a new collection of marine microplanktonic organisms isolated mainly from Mediterranean Sea and especially from the Bay of Villefranche. Those protists can be auto-, mixo- or hetero-trophic organisms. Currently, MCCV is focused on dinoflagellates and diatoms. The Mediterranean Culture Collection of Villefranche also maintains some benthic unicellular auto- or mixo-trophic strains, such as the toxic genus Ostreopsis and the associated microalgae.

• Roscoff Culture Collection (RCC)

La Roscoff Culture Collection maintient plusieurs milliers de souches de microalgues, bacteries, virus, chacune identifiée par un code RCC unique. Les souches sont maintenues vivantes en milieu liquide avec répiquage régulier ou en condition cryopréservée. Elles sont fournies aux utilisateurs qui en font la demande en inoculum vivant de 30ml.
